Book Babies

On Fridays, I take Evan to the Iowa City Public Library for Book Babies, a story time just for infants. To read all about his brush with fame today, click here. The library itself is pretty cool, so I brought my camera to get some shots. I like this picture, taken in the entrance. I think the white balance might be off, but I actually like the overall look of the picture. What do you think?

1/250, f/3.5, 18mm, ISO 400, WB- Incandescent

This next picture is nothing special technically, but I just wanted to show you what we see in our backyard almost every evening. I wish I could have gotten a picture of the buck, but I think he thought the camera was a gun and he took off. This one wasn't camera shy though, so I snapped a few quick shots!

1/200, f/5.6, 120mm, ISO 800, WB-cloudy

That first shot is dizzying - it actually took me a minute to figure out which way was up ----and I LOVE IT!!!!! I think you are right about the white balance -but I wouldn't change a thing. The color, as it is, is fantastic. Such a cool shot.

Also, I love that you have "visitors" to your yard on a regular basis. We have to travel for an hour for the same experience.

How cool! Love the shot of the library. Well done. I'm watching Bambi right now with my kids so the deer photo is really endearing to me!

Thanks for the comments on my blog, I don't have CS2 yet, I think hubby is gonna get it for me so I can't compare, but I love LB, it's a great program in my opinion!

I agree...the 1st shot is very interesting. Had to look at it for a few moments to get my bearings. Great. Love the deer as well.

That library shot is SO cool! Love it! The white balance is blue, but adds to the effect. I wouldn't change a thing!

That first photo is pretty remarkable! I could see that one framed and hung up. Thought about converting it too? Oh, and deer are so peaceful aren't they? I just love them.

Great captures! Love the color and perspective of the first! I love deer until they walk across the road. (This actually happens to me a lot). It's nice to see them standing STILL! :)

Hi Andrea,
Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog. I love what you did with the library photo. Very modern and I think what really gave it the "umph" was the WB. Great job...

And wow for the second pic to see that everyday :)
