Man, it is still freezing here! So this is how I have been taking pictures for the challenge:
When I think of Iowa, I think of corn and fields. This isn't either, but it sort of reminds me of it! LOL!

i love your pics! the woodpecker is my fav...the crop? maybe a little more of a zoom into him, just to focus on him...but i love the color!
I like the long verticle you chose, but think the little birdie gets a little lost. I'm jealous of your birds...
I really like that second pic with the wheat (is it wheat?? lol . . . I should know. I grew up with a farmer for a dad!!!!!) I like the color in the pic with the woodpecker; it's really crisp and sharp. But the woodpecker doesn't seem to stand out enough, IMO. Thanks for the sweet comments on my blog! I appreciate that you're taking the time to look at my work!
I like all of these but the one of the bird is my favorite...the colors are great!

That looks sooooo cold. I love the colours on the second one. I agree with Drew's mom, the long skinny crop is good on the woodpecker one, but I would love to see it cropped closer, so the bird id more prominent in the frame.
Great shots! It kind of looks like that here (Indiana) now, too since winter finally put in an appearance Monday. I love the shot of the woodpecker!
These are great photos!! I also love the wheat shot! Great color and clarity! I think a tighter crop for the woodpecker would work better.
